Public Engagement: Inspiring the Next Generation of Scientists at the Discovery Park Jamboree
For the third consecutive year, Tetrad Discovery participated in the annual Discovery Park Science Jamboree, a high-impact regional initiative designed to demystify complex scientific concepts for local primary school students.
Over two days of intensive public engagement, the Tetrad team delivered a series of interactive demonstrations to nearly 2,000 Year 6 students. By showcasing the chemical dynamics of high-energy reactions and controlled physical transformations, we aimed to pivot the perception of science from a textbook subject to a dynamic, hands-on career pathway.
Working alongside our guest collaborator, Rohini Chohan, our team led 24 focused demonstration groups, providing each young student with a direct, immersive look at the "cool science" that underpins the laboratory experience.
"Inspiring the scientists of the future begins with capturing their curiosity at the earliest possible stage," said the Tetrad team. "Seeing 2,000 students leave Discovery Park with a new found enthusiasm for chemical and physical sciences makes every moment of preparation worthwhile. We are proud to invest in the regional talent pipeline and look forward to building on this outreach for many years to come."
