Bridging the STEM Gap: Three Years of Mentoring Kent’s Next Generation at Discovery Park

This June, Tetrad Discovery once again joined forces with the Education Business Partnership (EBP) at Discovery Park to support local Year 10 students for the annual Student Employability Day.

Stepping away from the bench, members of our scientific team delivered one-to-one mock interviews to students from across the South East. Beyond reviewing basic CVs, the sessions were tailored to build genuine confidence, provide constructive real-world feedback, and demystify what a career in commercial bio-analysis actually looks like.

This year’s event marked a proud milestone for the company: Tetrad Discovery has now been a consecutive delivery partner for the initiative since its inaugural session in 2024. Over the last three years, our scientific staff have committed more than 30 hours of dedicated face-to-face mentoring to help close the gap between secondary education and the commercial life-sciences sector.

"Fostering the regional talent pipeline isn’t just a corporate responsibility; it’s an investment in the future of South East science," said the Tetrad team. "A huge thank you to EBP for organising another seamless event—we look forward to seeing some of these bright young minds back in our laboratories in the years to come."
